Calling out to our PCS parents! Are you looking for some supplemental materials that you as the parent can use with your children at home? The following are a few links to some incredibly helpful sites and completely self-explanatory music printouts. You and your child will have a great time working together to complete these activities—bonding over music. How precious is that!
As PCS parents know, students are required to complete four composer reports in order to earn the music history category. How fun would it be to expand on the Piano Explorer magazine or simply do some more research on your own and make some composer books? With a brief biography, a simple quiz, and some interesting pictures, these books are quick and easy to put together. Composers covered include Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Grieg, Handel, Haydn, Liszt, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Verdi, and Wagner.
How about making a music instrument book? Take a musical journey of the symphony as you put together the “My Musical Instrument Book.” Read about and see pictures of different brass, string, wind, and percussion instruments featured on each page. No matter what instrument your child currently plays, it’s important to know about all the other ones as well! For more activity sheets on the different instruments consider some of the following printouts: (no worries—there are answer keys provided!)
